The team of ALDA brought its participation in 23rd Conference of the International Observatory on Participatory Democracy (IOPD) taking place in Valongo, Portugal. The success of this event was largely due to the quality of the interventions, which enriched the discussions and significantly contributed to the reflection on participatory democracy.
Among ALDA team were Irakli Jgharkava, Southern Caucasus and Central Asia coordinator, Viorica Tudos, Director of Chisinau Office and Project Manager, Anzhelika Pylypenko, LDA Dnepro and Lusine Aleksandryan, LDA Armenia. A special session “Local Resilient Democracy and Participatory Governance in Eastern Europe amidst Challenges” was facilitated by Irakli Jgharkava will enriching presentations and discussions. Lusine Aleksandryan participated remotely with video presentation referring to the democracy in Armenia, challenges towards EU integration and initiatives implemented by LDA Armenia on youth empowerment and participation in decision-making processes.
