In the frames of LADDER project of ALDA the second special Initiative with focus on the Eastern Partnership took place in Georgia from 1-4 December, 2015 that was organized by NALAG in cooperation with ALDA and UBBSLA. LADDER project is about Development education & Awareness raising as a process for a change of attitudes.



The plenary session took place in Tbilisi and was opened by Mr Stephan Stork – Head of Operations of EU Delegation to Georgia, Mr David Melua – Director of NALAG, and Mrs Imislawa Gorska – Vice-President of ALDA.
Mrs Antonella Valmorbida, Secretary General of ALDA, presented the LADDER approach, the goals and content of the project. There were presentations by some representatives of LADDER partnership, namely Mrs Mariana Ivanova from UBBSLA – the Bulgarian Black Sea Local Authorities, Mrs Natalia Shovkoplias from UTCS –the Union of Towns and Cities of Slovakia, Mr Dmitriy Sokol from Lev Sapieha Foundation of Belarus, and Mr David Melua, Director of NALAG․ the director of “Local Democracy Agency” foundation Lusine Aleksandryan participated in the EAP session with the presentation of Civil society situation in Armenia and EU role in projects.
Beginning from the 2nd day the participants were deployed in 3 cities of Georgia for the thematic breakpout sessions: Thematic Group A in Brojomi – “Towards energy efficient municipalities. Strengthen the alliance with cities and municipalities through New Covenant of Mayors for Climate and Energy”, Thematic Group B in Kutaisi– “Migration and Mobility – a challenge or an opportunity for local development”, Thematic Group C – “Sustainable Agriculture – success models for rural municipalities” in Telavi.
