LDA Armenia foundation director Lusine Aleksandryan implemented 4-day trainings in June for the workers of the community libraries to promote their capacities on cooperating with educational institutions, within their networks and civil society organizations. The libraries come across a lot of problems and don’t get any sufficient support from the state. They lack financial means and relevant premise in order to have the role of the libraries that really serve public and not to limit their functioning with book lending and borrowing. The workers also presented ideas to implement in future with small funds.





Second phase of trainings with the administrative staff of local libraries took place in LDA Armenia office from 25-29th of September, 2017. The topics covered the issue of participatory budgeting, regulations for the management of library budget, allocation of funds and possible expenses for activities, communication. It was foreseen to implement a joint activity with the libraries for visibility and LDA Armenia would elaborate a reforms package to present to the municipality.
