8th edition LDA network delegates from Armenia and Georgia had the opportunity to participate in the Black sea NGO forum, 8th edition from 2-3 November in Tbilis, Georgia.
The forum aimed to define a strategic framework for regional cooperation at the Black sea. For the opening plenary session all speakers mentioned the Importance of the Black Sea NGO forum for further developments in the local civil sector of each country, international partnerships.
Mr. Justin Kicullen, co-chair of CSO partnership for Development Effectiveness- CPDE, Mr. Brian Tomlinson (CPDE) mentioned that CPDE envisages a world where respect for human rights, participatory democracy, social and environmental justice and sustainability, gender equality and equity, and decent work and sustainable change are achieved and called for other civil society organizations to become a member in their network for future joint project initiatives.
A report on “Enabling Environment for Civil Society Development in the Black Sea Region” was presented that really showed the state of civil society state in Black Sea countries. Lusine Aleksandryan and Nino Tvaltvadze participated in thematic workshop on the Island of Integrity and effectiveness –a new approach on anti-corruption. The session moderator was an expert from Romania Ane Vasilache that made a productive presentation and interactive discussions on corruption and honesty in all administrative sectors and local Self-Government. At the end she concluded with following words: “Honesty” is not a consistent, inherent trait and is considerably influenced by the context”. During the work group Delegates of LDA Armenia and LDA Georgia developed a project on civic engagement with the representatives from Turkey, Romania, the Ukraine, Moldova and Ireland. The project passed with voting and FOND organization will fund it after the project full application. The Black Sea NGO Forum 8th edition provided with the concrete recommendations and proposals to the participants about the donor organizations that enable the applicants with real funding opportunities and is a true platform of dialogue and partnership possibilities.
